A checklist for sending through Monero with outside services. You swap what you hold into Monero at one service, wait, move it inside your own wallet, then swap it back, paid to the recipient. You do every step yourself, at the services and in your wallet. This page works out the cost, says what the plan hides and what it risks, and keeps the checklist and the timer. It holds no address, sends nothing, and moves no money.

It takes hours to days on purpose: the wait is what protects you. Fiat purchases are not covered.

The two services' fees together: 1.495% (0.5% then 1%, taken one after the other). Network fees on the public legs and the Monero fee come on top; each service shows them in its quote. 2 transactions are yours.

Could not be checked: how many other deposits fell in the gap; where the new address gets its gas; how you reach the network.

ShieldedShielded: the public cannot follow the funds through Monero, and no single service sees both ends. The two swaps and the amounts at each end are public.

Monero usually needs 10 confirmations before it can be spent again, about 20 minutes each time (general knowledge, not checked here).
You chose a gap of 24 hours between the swaps. A short gap is the easiest thing to match.

You are trusting

Who can take your funds: FixedFloat and SideShift each hold your funds while their swap runs; in between, you hold the Monero yourself
Who can break the privacy: The two services, only if they do not share what they see. The plan names them as different operators but cannot see whether they share data
Who can stop it: Either service can delay, hold or refuse an order, and may ask for identity checks. A lost Monero seed cannot be recovered by anyone
How you get out: Before the first swap nothing is at risk. In between, the Monero is yours and can be swapped at any service that takes it. A swap that fails refunds to the address you give it
Evidence: Fees and limits come from the services' published pages and from review sites, each dated and linked in the planner; none of the services has been audited here

Risks of using it at all

May be reviewed
The money comes back as an ordinary asset from an instant-exchange service, so a regulated exchange sees funds from that service, not Monero. Services that screen deposits may look harder at funds that came from a service handling privacy coins; no documented case was found.
Monero itself has been delisted by some exchanges (OKX is reported to have stopped trading it around January 2024; sources conflict on dates and on others). If you try to deposit Monero itself somewhere regulated, it is often refused.
Rule: EU Regulation 2024/1624 (the AMLR), Article 79, applies from 10 July 2027: credit institutions, financial institutions and crypto-asset service providers may not keep accounts for coins designed to obscure transaction information, by default or through an optional feature. It binds those providers, not people holding their own coins (a secondary reading; check the text).
What you can do: Keep the Monero in your own wallet, never at an exchange. If the payout will go to a regulated exchange, ask its support first, or send a small amount to see.

Showing where it came from

You can show your own Monero wallet's view key and the two services' order records. Each link in the chain has to be shown separately, and a view key shows everything the wallet received.

Is it right for you?

I use exchanges or banks and need my money to stay acceptable to them: Think twice. Some exchanges and banks may review or hold funds that used this.
I want the link hidden as strongly as possible: Good fit. No single party in the route can link you to the recipient.
I may need to show where my money came from: Think twice. You can share a read-only key, but it shows everything and cannot be taken back.
I want it cheap and quick: Think twice. Documented fees are 1.495% before network costs.

Use a new recipient address for each swap: reusing one links your swaps to each other on any route.
Don't send to the wallet you paid from: that links source and destination again.
